Saving Time with Intuitive Interfaces
To set up a new account, administrators select “create new user” from a simple web interface and enter user information such as location and language preference. Phones are added to the system using generic profiles that have been assigned to reflect phone usage and configuration. Profiles can be created in advance for individuals or groups such as sales, administration or temporary staff that will share similar settings. They can specify key information such as the IP address of the primary and secondary application servers, time zones, music-on-hold, voicemail numbers, ring patterns, class of service and type of service, so that once both users and phones have been setup, one or more phones can be allocated to a single user with the click of a button.

Working in the Office or Remotely with Equal Ease
3Com voice solutions help workers communicate effectively, whether from their own desktop phone or from a remote location. They can download their user profile and features to any free phone connected to their business network by simply logging into it with their extension number and PIN. The phone will function just like their own office phone, letting them make and receive calls and access the phone features associated with their business phone account; logging out frees the phone for another worker’s use. The 3Com Convergence Client softphone or a third-party SIP-based softphone offers additional options for simple and safe communications. Remote workers can take advantage of a full range of voice communications by connecting to their corporate IP telephony system directly from a laptop computer via either a virtual private network (VPN) or office network port.
