Their support for RADIUS and 802.1X can automatically assign wireless users to virtual LANs (VLANs) when they authenticate, enabling VLANs to be security groupings as well as routing segments. They provide the robust security of virtual private networks (VPNs), enabling enterprises to extend VPNs over wireless links. 3Com wireless access points feature Dynamic Security Link (DSL), which is administered within the device for additional protection.
