Where the Mission Is Critical
3Com deployment communications solutions are engineered for maximum portability, flexibility and durability so they can stand up to a range of emergency conditions. They are also simple and speedy to deploy, requiring no extensive training for setup and operation. Every component delivers industry-leading reliability and availability, proven by ruggedization tests and years in the field under extreme conditions. And 3Com solutions are affordable to purchase and maintain, so agencies can distribute them widely and still stay within budget.

A Broad Choice of Components
Agencies can customize their solutions by choosing the 3Com deployment components that best fit their needs:
  • 3Com IP telephony platforms provide converged voice and data over wired or wireless infrastructures with exceptional scalability, giving them industry-leading versatility. They enhance communications with built-in features such as voice mail, automated attendant and computer telephony integration, and support for an array of 3Com and third-party applications. And they are rugged. For example, the NBX® V3001R Platform offers dual standard power supplies and optionally supports a redundant configuration of hard drives (RAID level I)—all with impressive ease of use and management, either remotely or locally.
  • 3Com IP phones are designed for deployment flexibility and high performance. They provide excellent voice quality and support advanced Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) applications.
  • 3Com LAN switches and routers deliver converged, high-performance infrastructure functionality to meet varied requirements. Award-winning stackable switches provide 10/100/1000 Ethernet rates, and can be powered from the Ethernet cabling. 3Com routers offer better performance at a fraction of the cost of competitors’ products. And all these devices feature standards-based architectures that enable interoperability with third-party equipment—an important consideration in situations involving multiple organizations with diverse communications equipment.
  • Wireless mobility systems allow an agency to establish communications where cabled equipment is impractical or will take too long to set up. Up to 253 users can be served from one 3Com Wi-Fi access point, and users can roam freely between access point coverage areas without losing their voice or data connection to the network.
  • Strong security provided by 3Com Intrusion Prevention Systems and other components ensures that the agency’s network will not be jeopardized when an emergency system is deployed. 3Com has partnered with Fortress Technologies to provide FIPS 140-2-certified technology that meets stringent government standards.
