Q: Why has 3Com decided to discontinue its HomeConnect® WebCam product line?
A: 3Com is refocusing its strategy and will concentrate on business network solutions and products where it has leadership positions.

Q: How long is the warranty period for the webcam products and what will happen to warranties and customer support for discontinued webcam products?
A: Our various webcam products and accessories are warranted for different periods of time. All product warranties and customer support will remain in effect for the duration of the warranty period as specified in the user documentation accompanying the product.

Q: I bought a GOLD/SILVER support plan when I purchased my WebCam on 3Com.com. Will 3Com still honor the GOLD/SILVER plan?
A: 3Com is currently honoring all support plans.

Q: I bought my webcam directly from 3Com in March. Since the product is being discontinued, I no longer want it. Can I return it to 3Com and receive a full refund?
A: If you purchased your WebCam from 3Com.com, you have 30 days from the date of purchase to return it.

Q: I bought my webcam from a retailer (i.e., Best Buy, CompUSA) or an etailer (i.e., Egghead.com, Buy.com). Since it is being discontinued, I no longer want it. Will these retailers and etailers provide me with a full refund?
A: It will be up to the individual retailers and etailers based on their own policies to determine whether or not they will issue you a refund for your product.

Q: If I keep my webcam and something goes wrong with it, will 3Com still offer customer support and maintenance to my unit?
A: 3Com will honor all warranties and customer support until the end of the warranty period.

Q: Who do I contact for warranty and support on webcam products 3Com is no longer manufacturing?
A: There is no change to the support contact numbers provided in the documentation that came with your product.

Q: Are you going to proactively let webcam customers know that you are discontinuing the products?
A: We are posting a message on 3com.com and will be notifying our corporate customers via email.

Q: Will 3Com be offering discounts on the webcam products and accessories?
