Product FAQs

Q: What are the fast Ethernet desktop Network Interface Cards?
A: The fast Ethernet desktop network interface cards (NICS) connect your PCI-compliant PC to an Ethernet or Fast Ethernet network. The fast Ethernet NICs automatically operate at 10Mbps when connected to a hub supporting 10BASE-T Ethernet and at 100 Mbps when connected to a hub supporting 100BASE-TX/T4 Fast Ethernet. The fast Ethernet desktop NICs use a single RJ-45 connector, unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable, and a PCI (2.0 or 2.1) slot in your PC.
Q: What does the fast Ethernet desktop NIC do?
A: The fast Ethernet desktop NICs use Dynamic Access to optimize network performance, Interactive Access technology to minimize CPU utilization, PACE drivers that enable prioritization of applications such as video, Distributed RMON, and Parallel Tasking architecture for high throughput and low processor utilization.
Q: What do I need to run fast Ethernet Desktop NICs?
A: Your PC must be an 80386, 80486, Pentium, Power PC, or Alpha-based PC or server. It must also have an available PCI slot, a minimum of 640K of memory, and you must be running the latest BIOS for your PC or server
