What does the 56K LAN Modem do for me?
A:
The OfficeConnect 56K LAN Modem allows you to share Internet access through a single phone line to up to 4 PCs with no extra equipment needed, or up to 25 PCs with the purchase of extra switches or hubs. This is much more cost effective than using multiple phone lines for multiple PCs.

How does the LAN modem connect to my network?
A:
The 56K LAN Modem contains a built-in 56K modem so simply connect it to your phone line socket using the cable provided and connect your PCs, or network connection to the built-in Ethernet hub.

Q:
Does this product offer any security for my network?
A:
There is a limited level of security in this product. The private network is hidden from the Internet by using Network Address Translation. For a higher level of security, one of the OfficeConnect Cable/DSL Gateways can be used behind the LAN Modem.

Q:
Is VPN supported by the OfficeConnect LAN Modem?
A:
The LAN Modem is not capable of initiating or terminating VPN tunnels. It does, however, support VPN pass through for both PPTP and L2TP VPN protocols. IPSec VPN pass through is not supported.
