What is Auto-Sensing MDI/MDIX?
A:
Auto-Sensing MDI/MDIX means that every port on the switch will automatically detect the Ethernet cable type being used (straight-through or crossover) and adjust to make a link over that cable. This means that the days of having to figure out which cable to use are gone.
This is a massive improvement over previous hubs and switches where this functionality was only available on one hub/switch port through the manual operation of a mechanical switch (MDI/MDIX switch or Uplink switch).

This feature takes away any problems that might occur with cabling difficulties. Why would I want traffic prioritization (priority queuing)? What are the benefits?

If you have any plans to implement network telephony or any sort of video conferencing, streaming video/audio or any real-time applications on your network you will need traffic prioritization. The benefit of traffic prioritization is that it can dramatically improve the quality of priority services on the network. If traffic prioritization is not implemented then the quality of these services will depend entirely on the load on your network. If network traffic is high, the service will not work properly.
