Product FAQs

Q: What is a Hub?
A: Hubs are the most basic building blocks for connecting your PCs, servers, and peripheral devices to form an Ethernet network. Sometimes referred to as repeaters, hubs allow the attached network devices to communicate with each other, sharing information and resources.
Q: How can I connect the computers in my home office?
A: A 3Com® HomeConnect™ HomeNetwork Ethernet hub provides the traffic control center that directs information through your home network. You can easily connect up to five computers, sharing printer and personal files among several users, and enabling sharing of your Internet connection as well. The HomeConnect HomeNetwork Ethernet hub supports all leading operating systems, including Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, Macintosh, Linux, and UNIX.
Q: How do I connect the computers in my home to the Hub?
A: Make sure that all the computers you intend to connect to the network are turned off. Install network adapters on all computers to be networked. Insert the Ethernet cables into the hub, and then turn on the hub. Insert the Ethernet cables into the Ethernet ports of the network adapters installed in the computers to be networked. Turn on your computers.
