Business-Class G.SHDSL Router for Remote Office Locations (expected availability Q4, 2004)
The 3Com Router 3033 provides all of the components needed to give remote office and tele-workers secure, high-speed symmetric access to the Internet or corporate networks over a broadband DSL connection.
The router includes a four-port switch for local LAN connections. The 64MB DRAM, 8MB flash memory, and operating software support a full complement of routing, integrated security, and quality of service features required by today's remote office.
The Router 3033 operates using the latest business-class standard of DSL known as G.SHDSL (Symmetric High-speed Digital Subscriber Line). This standard of DSL provides symmetric broadband service for mission-critical and time-sensitive applications such as IP telephony and content delivery.
G.SHDSL supports symmetric speeds of up to 2.3Mbps over single pair or 4.6Mbps over two-pair wires up to 20K feet from the telephone companies' central office.
