A Modern Multilayer Switching Solution for Enterprises
The 3Com® Switch S7900E family is the next generation of modern multilayer switches that meets the evolving needs of integrated service networks.
The Switch S7900E can be deployed in multiple network environments, such as the Enterprise LAN core, aggregation and wiring closet edge, as well as the convergence and edge of Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs). This high-end modular chassis switch has a high-speed passive backplane, supports load sharing and redundant management and fabrics for high availability, and delivers wirespeed transfers at Layers 2 and 3 for IPv4 and IPv6.
The Switch S7900E family consists of five chassis models:
With its modern ASICs, the Switch S7900E provides the latest distributed switching technology for the most demanding applications. With high-reliability technologies such as non-stop forwarding (NSF) and ring network protection, this switch can improve productivity and help ensure maximum uptime, reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO).
Environmentally friendly, the 3Com Switch S7900E family is compliant with the standard for the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS).
Switch S7900E family switch fabric and I/O modules include:
Switch Fabric
10-Gigabit Ethernet Modules
Gigabit Ethernet Modules
Additional options for the Switch S7900E Family include:- Redundant, load sharing power supplies, in both AC and DC versions, PoE and non-PoE
- PoE components
- Spare fan assemblies
