- Best-in-class recycling and waste reduction programs reduce, reuse and recycle everything from batteries and light bulbs to computer monitors.
- Construction of the 3Com campus was eco-friendly, preserving local flora and fauna and minimizing damage to surrounding woodlands and ponds.
- Building construction included an intelligent energy management system to control light and heat.
- Magic Salt, instead of salt or sand, is used to de-ice and melt snow in winter.
- Every meeting room and cubical contains movement sensors that control lights, monitors and personal electrical systems so they can be automatically shut off when not in use.

- An Environmental Management System achieved ISO 14001:2004 Det Norske Veritas (DNV) certification on December 15, 2005.

- An environmentally friendly building features intelligent low-energy lighting that adjusts its intensity according to external light conditions.
