3Com Corporation (Nasdaq: COMS) today announced that the Mexican Social Security Health Institute (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social - IMSS) has selected the 3Com® Switch 4500 and 5500G as the LAN switches of choice for its network upgrade project. The high-performance network will connect the Institute's more than 2,000 rural clinics, family units and regional hospitals throughout Mexico. It also will support more than 5,000 employees who interact directly with beneficiaries of IMSS, the government entity responsible for Mexico's social security that provides beneficiaries with many facilities and health-care services throughout the country. |
