Kathleen Cote was elected a director of 3Com in September 2008. As a private investor and advisor she provides strategic and operational expertise to technology companies. From May 2001 through June 2003 she was chief executive officer of Worldport Communications, Inc., a provider of managed Internet services to the European market. Prior to becoming Worldport’s CEO, Cote was president and founder of Seagrass Partners, a provider of expertise in business planning and strategic development. She also has held various senior management positions, including CEO, at Computervision Corporation, an international provider of software for data management and product development software and services. Earlier in her career, Cote held positions at Wang Laboratories, MFE Corporation and CTI Cryogenics. In addition to her role on the 3Com board of directors, Cote is a director of Western Digital Corporation, Forgent Networks, Inc. (d/b/a Asure Software) and VeriSign, Inc. Cote earned an M.B.A. from Babson College, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
