3Com has redefined network security with the launch of the industry's first network-based intrusion prevention system with multi-function security capabilities.
The new TippingPoint™ X505 from 3Com's TippingPoint division is the first integrated security platform built upon TippingPoint's award-winning Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) technology, combining stateful inspection firewall, IPSec VPN, bandwidth management, Web content filtering and dynamic routing. This new platform meets the growing demand of enterprise customers to have a more complete security solution that provides preemptive, automatic and dynamic protection not found in today's firewalls.
The TippingPoint X505 adds intelligence into the network by performing total packet flow inspection to block malicious traffic, throttle non-essential traffic, and prioritize mission-critical traffic regardless of the type of traffic inspected: voice, data or video.
